Dell is Pessimistic on Vista
I have run vista on some pretty low end machines and not been blown away with the experience but Dell is down right pessimistic. I use the basic interface a lot, just because I have some legacy applications that don’t like the AERO interface. I would say that it is good for more than just staring at the desktop, which is what is implied by “Booting the Operating System, without running applications or games”
