According to GameSpot, Capcom has revealed that Bionic Commando, the classic side-scrolling action title that originally debuted back in 1988, isback! It will return as a next-gen title for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, but doesn’t yet have an estimated release date.
Obviously, we’ll be looking at a whole new generation of grappling fun; for those of you who don’t know, you used a robotic "hook arm" of sorts in Bionic Commando to swing your way through each level. But this time around, that grappling hook for a hand will be multi-functional, as players will be able to use it to rappel down walls, nail enemies at close and long range, and even toss stuff at enemies! Oh, and the storyline will undergo a significant change as well, as Nathan Spencer finds himself on death row after faithfully serving his country. Yup, he was framed. And he’s going to have to maneuver through a futuristic environment to clear his name, one that will offer plenty of grappling opportunities.
