defergui.exe Trojan (Virus) removal
defergui.exe is bundled with a bunch of pirated software, and is used to hijack your browser. To remove it Panda’s Free Antivirus Scan really is the way to go. But if you want to do it by hand, and you are running vista you can.
On XP, Win2k, and Windows 98 you cannot remove this with out the aid of an antivirus.
On Windows Vista when booting press F8 and choose safe mode. Once in safe mode delete all instances of Defergui.exe uninstall any pirated software, then remove all instances of defergui.exe from the registry with regedit.
Open IE and in tools -> options choose reset IE to defaults.
Your Vista system is now clean.
But I still think you’d be happier with the free antivirus solution.
