How to Remove the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) from Windows Vista, XP, 2000, and Server 2008

Often one of the easiest ways to remove certain virus infections from you PC is to first remove Java’s Runtime Environment which many of them use to execute on your system.  You may also wish to remove JRE to increase your performance, or test web page experiences with out the JRE orf tvthek videoen.

To uninstall the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) from your system, use the Add/Remove Programs utility in the Microsoft Windows Control Panel.

  1. Click Start
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Control Panel
  4. Double click the Add/Remove Programs control panel icon

Removal instructions:

  • Download the Microsoft Installer Clean Up utility file and save it on your desktop
  • Double click on executable file herunterladen. The installation process will start. Follow the instructions accordingly
  • Once installation process is over, go to Start -> All Programs -> Run Windows Install Clean Up utility
  • This will launch the Windows Installer Clean Up utility dialog box
  • Under the Installed products list, select the desired JRE version that you want to remove
  • Click Remove and Exit
