www.MagicJack.com Not Quite the Phone Solution It is Advertised to be
Magic Jack.com is supposed to work with “any Computer” well, not really. It doesn’t work with Cell Processor Macs, Linux PC’s, and it doesn’t work on computers which have firewalls, corporate security, or which you don’t have administrative privileges on.
It should also be pointed out that if you are playing games, doing heavy surfing, or have a less than stellar Internet connection that you will get pops, breakups and other audio issues.
The MagicJack doesn’t actually make calls free. It makes them $19.95 for the first year and $69.95 a year after that.
Magic Jack.com doesn’t work if your computer is off either. So unless you have an always on PC, you can’t always receive phone calls. MagicJack should not be used as your only phone, as in an emergency it may not be reliable.
