Xbox Builds Community ala Tupperware

Microsoft is encouraging over 1000 women to host Xbox 360 parties. Microsoft contracted with a company called House Party which arranges in home parties for marketers to ship hosting packages containing $150 worth of Xbox goodies.

The Package includes a copy of Scene It, and Xbox Universal Media Remote ( called the Scepter ) 90 days of Xbox Live service and 1600 Microsoft Live Points, ( enough to buy 2 casual games )

Microsoft’s director of interactive entertainment business and global platforms, Heather Snavely, says this is a different way of going after "a new audience of women and teens," an audience they hope will drive "the next 20 million" consoles sold. House Party CEO Kitty Kolding says they’re trying to "get authentic enthusiasm going."

If anyone knows a gal hosting one of these parties I’d be interested in meeting/talking/attending.  I like the idea and think more companies should attempt this kind of thing.
