Eharmony.com Terminates My Account, and Steals my Money

EHarmony sent me three letters telling me the accounts I set up when I lived in San Mateo, Santa Clara, and most recently San Jose, have been closed.  There was no reason cited.  Just a note saying it could be because I’m a criminal, married, or could be any or no reason.

· Misrepresentation of personal information such as name, criminal history, identity, address, age or marital status;
· Behavior that violates our Terms and Conditions such as soliciting funds from matches, verbal or physical abuse, or infringing on a match’s privacy.
Additionally, as stated in our Terms and Conditions, eHarmony reserves the right to terminate any account at any time, for any reason or no reason, at our own discretion. For more information, please review our Terms and Conditions at the following link:

I was also told that I would receive no refund for the remaining time on my active account.

What really strikes me is that none of the accounts I created for the purpose of misrepresenting myself while writing my book on online dating were closed, meaning I only managed to trigger this on my real account.

When I emailed EHarmony to find out why they canceled my account I got an automated response saying the same thing the initial email had said.

Trying to reach Eharmony by phone I was told that it was not Eharmony’s policy to discuss why an account was terminated.

I don’t really want to bother with filing a BBB complaint, I figure I’ll let the bad press from my Google Rank do its damage.

I won’t be recommending Eharmony.com in the future.
