"On October 26, 2009, your GeoCities site will no longer appear on the Web, and you will no longer be able to access your GeoCities account and file," Yahoo wrote in a statement to GeoCities users.  And so we sing....

A Long Long Time Ago...

I can still remember

How Sparkle Text Used to make me smile.

And I knew if I had my chance

I could make those Hamster's Dance.

And Maybe we'd be surfing for a while.

 

But Flashy Scripts Made me Shiver,

The hit counts it couldn't deliver.

Bad News on the Door Step,

Yahoo removed my page in one step

 

I can't remember if I cried,

When I read about this site's demise

But Something hacked me deep inside

When GeoCities's Died.

 

So Bye-Bye, Easy Affiliate Guy

Moved my pages to a Myspace

and kissed the cities goodbye

Apple made it all easy and everything starts with an I
