I read it on Yahoo News (so it must be true) about Oprah Winfrey ending her talk show.

This is huge news because the Oprah Winfrey Show has been around for 20+ years. It is arguably one of the most influential shows on the airwaves right now and some might even say in the history of television.

The news of Oprah Winfrey ending her talk show came from Tim Bennett, the President of Harpo (her company and named spelled backwards), who announced to all ABC affiliates on Thursday in a letter.

In the letter, Bennett states: "Before she speaks to her loyal viewers, we wanted to share her decision first with you - our valued partners for more than two decades."

There will be a live announcement of Oprah Winfrey ending her talk show on where else, the Oprah Winfrey Show.

For all you fans of the show, don’t fret the Oprah Winfrey Show ends in 2011, so you still have many more months and opportunities to watch the show before it goes off the air. And man-oh-man what a farewell tour she will receive I’m sure. I’m thinking for a show of her magnitude it will be like Friends going off the air + Seinfeld going off the air + Jay Leno’s Tonight Show going off the air + M.A.S.H going off the air = Oprah Winfrey going off the air. And I don’t think I’m being too far fetched.

Although I’m sure, Oprah will just be moving over to OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network), it still remains to be seen what she does next. But wow, how does someone follow up that act?
