Bob Sheppard the Yankees Voice Of God Dies At Age 99
Bob Sheppard the public address announcer at Yankee stadium died Sunday at age 99. Sheppard had been the voice of the stadium for almost 60 years. In that time he announced 13 of the Bomber’s 27 World Series Championships, and players as far back as Mickey Mantle.
Bob Sheppard only missed 5 games in his first 50 seasons as an announcer, and announced 121 consecutive postseason games with on an absence.
For many Yankees Fans Bob Sheppard will always be the "Voice of God".
