JC Penney is having a really, really bad day due to an offering from its children’s clothing line. The item-already pulled from the company’s website- in question is a long sleeve t-shirt stating happily, “I’m Too Pretty To Do Homework So My Brother Has To Do it For Me.”
No, really, that’s what it says zoom deutschland herunterladen. But to my way of thinking, that’s not even the best part. The best part is the copy that goes with it. “Who has time to do homework when there’s a new Justin Bieber album out what you can't download? She’ll love this shirt that’s just as cute and sassy as she is.” The even better best part? The line the tee is part of is called Self Esteem and was being marketed to girls ages 7 to 16 iclouden windows 10.
The tee was originally priced at $16.99 and had been reduced to $9.99 before Penney’s pulled it Wednesday tiptoi die welt der pferde und ponys herunterladen. Available online only it obviously wasn’t popular to begin with, but since Wednesday morning it, and JC Penney, has been vilified in every form of media available kostenlose app musik downloaden.
A petition at Change.org had over 1,600 signatures by midday demanding the removal of the shirt and the boycotting of the company sims 3 hühnerstall kostenlosen. The petition was addressed to JC Penney Chairman and CEO Mike Ulman III. One would suppose he’s also not having the best day of his career.
Penney’s pulled the shirt, though you can still find it listed without a photo on their website herunterladen. The company released a statement saying in part, “We agree that the “Too pretty” t-shirt does not deliver an appropriate message, and we immediately discontinued its sale…We would like to apologize to our customers and are taking action to insure that we continue to uphold the integrity of our merchandise that they have come to expect.”
Translation: We’re looking for the idiot who Ok’d this purchase and when we find him or her, they will be promptly fired and the finger pointing can begin Serious sam free download full version.
Apparently no one at JC Penney saw this one coming which only proves that humans are still as fallible and clueless as ever. The shirt is stupid sky x series. I’m fairly laid back about the whole women’s lib thing. Don’t call me sugar, pat my head or assume I can’t add because I’m female and I’m fine herunterladen.
But really, who would buy this top for their daughter? Sure, there are some religious sects that might go for the sentiment but not the style. What it really comes down to is choice. If you don’t want your child to wear the item don’t buy it.
You could even turn it into a learning experience. Reading a shirt like that would be a great conversation starter on little things like self-esteem and stereotypes.
I would never purchase this for my child because I actually live in fear that one day she’ll have the exact attitude the shirt espouses. But at the same time I’m not upset it exists. I wouldn’t sign a petition, burn anyone in effigy or boycott the company for marketing it. Actually I think it’s funny. It’s truly funny that this shirt got through who knows how many checks and reviews without someone saying, hey, know what? This design might not be the best idea.
Besides, at the end of the day the shirt isn’t very realistic. After all, my brothers could never have done my homework…they were just dumb jocks after all.
