Actress Debra Messing, 43, and her writer-producer husband Daniel Zelman, 44, have separated.
According to People Magazine, the couple actually separated earlier this year but just acknowledged it publically yesterday. Messing and Zelman have been married for more than 10 years and have a 7-year-old son, Roman.
The pair first met in the early 1990s while both were pursuing graduate degrees in acting at New York University. They were married in 2000.
A source told US Magazine that Debra Messing and Daniel Zelman’s separation is “very amicable.” So much so in fact that the two, who recently moved to New York, are still cohabitating for the sake of their son. A move which would definitely aggravate any marital separation which was less than “very amicable.”
Debra Messing, of Will & Grace fame, will appear next in Smash, the upcoming NBC musical series. Daniel Zelman is the co-creator and executive producer of the FX series Damages.
