QoS or Quality of Service specifies rules about which traffic has priority on your network. Used correctly it is awesome, but DD-WRT that offers the Best QoS settings can brick your router if done incorrectly. So I’m showing you QoS on my wussy Asus Router that is fast, and has great range, but doesn’t offer a lot of control over QoS.
My router really only offers enough QoS to prioritize my Gaming and VoIP traffic, not enough to really manage all the applications on my network.
I only buy routers that support DD-WRT. If I need? “Extra” features like Cellular support, or such I use two routers.
