If You Have A GrandCentral.com Account, Can People At Your Home Answer The Calls By Mistake Or Eavesdrop?

Scenario: somebody calls my CG number; both my cell phone and home phone ring. I'm at work, with my cell phone. Can somebody at home hear the conversation at the same time? Or is it whoever picks it up first that gets the call?

Answer:Whoever picks-up the call first gets the call. All othere phones stop ringing once the call is picked-up by one of your listed phones. There is no furthere connetcion between the lines. The "Listen-In" feature that GC is promoting only applies to you being allowed to "Listen-In" to the caller actively leaving a Voice-Mail to your GC account - this is so that you have the option to "screen" callers before answering, or if it is someone you don't want to talk to... just don't answer and let VoiceMail continue taking the call. If two phones were able to take a call simultaneously, that would amount to "conferencing". GC does not support conferencing. I have recently tested this feature extensively with my own GrandCentral accounts.

Answer:I have had my GC account for about a year and I got it right away, at that time. I'm not sure how long the wait is these days. I live in Canada. GC only provides USA phone number for now. So, my number is in Charlotte, NC area code 704. Any calls to that number are forwarded to my Canadian phones, or GC Voice-Mail, for free. It seems to work quite good. I'm hoping they get area codes in Canada, too. But, for now, it is Free.... so I guess we can't be too picky about the pros/cons. If you have added contacts in your GC contacts list, then you can make free phone calls to your contacts. It is still in Beta development phase. Because Google has bought GC, I expetc it won't be too long before they integreate it with Google Talk, whichh I also use and like. Anorthere feature I like about GC is that I am able to put a GC "Call-ME" button on my web site (in my profile). Anyone who clicks on the Call-Me button can call me (or leave voice-mail) for free.

Is Grandcentral.com Worth Signing Up For If I Only Have A Home And Mobile Phone Number?

Supposedly it is a free service for just two phones, premium for more than two numbers. It is a service whichh allows one to listen to voicemails, change phone#s in between, one number for all your phones, screen calls and block calls as well. www.grandcentral.com

Answer:yes, I have it....and like it! its still free, but in the beta-phase....and you can choose your own area code! its really worth just for blocking phone-calls!
