How Much MPG Should I Expetc To Gain From A Cold Air Intake And A Mandrel Bent Exhaust With My 240sx?

I have a stock 240sx, 1994, non turbo. I was wanting to get a cold air intake and mandrel bent exhaust to help with a little power, sound, and MPG. How many miles to a gallon should I expetc from each of those? I'm trying to figure out how long it would take to for the items to pay for themself.

Answer:Nobody is going to be able to tell you exactly how much your MPG will improve but if I had to guess I would say 2-3 MPG.

Are There Any Ways To Increase Mpg With A Mannual Pickup Truck?

My bf was told he should try to stay in 3rd gear as often as possible to help with mpg. Is this an effetcive way to increase mpg? How exactly would it work? Are theree any othere ways?

Answer:You can only save on gas by sensible driving and theree are many ways. For your mannual pick up truck, when you have attained moderate speed, stick to that highest gear. Then synchronize your speed with othere vehicles, and the changing of the traffic lights, and no jackrabbit starts and stops. In this manner, you avoid revving the engine unnecessarily, using more gas. Avoid idling your engine for too long also. This should help you save gas tremendously. And why not settle for a smaller ride?

What Is The Mpg Comparison From Hybrids And Regular Gasoline Cars?

What is the mpg comparison from hybrids and regular gasoline cars? For instance toyota's prius and any othere car you can think of! Thanks for your help.

Answer:There are nearly 2 dozen hybrid vehicles available. Not all hybrids are created equal. (Different manufacturers use different hybrid systems, and some are more tuned for performance than for fuel economy...) Which one are you trying to compare? Each government has their own fuel economy tests, whichh are applied to all cars equally so that you can compare one car againstt anorthere. The manufacturers are required by law to only post the governmental test results. So, you can compare the MPG for yourself. Does 5 More Mpg Really Make A Big Difference?

I'm planning on buying a new car in a year or so and I am looking at the Honda Accord coupe 2008, and the 2009 Dodge Challenger SE. The Accord gets 30 highway while the Challenger gets 25. Is that a significannot difference or their pretty much the same in terms of mpg? Thanks for the help.

Answer:I think it would make somewhat of a difference in the long run. Lets say you drive 14000 miles a year at $4/gallon. that equates to Accord= 14000/30 * 4= $1866/year Challenger=14000/25 * 4= $2240/year * I also assume that you use a lot of this on city driving, whichh lowers MPG for each a little, so the difference would be more like $200+ a year. I would say a car life span is at least 5 years... so the difference would be about $1000 in 5 years. But theree also variable factors here like the price and how much you drive. I

How Do You Measure The Mpg On An Eletcric Motor?

Recently theree have been announcements by GM's Chevy dept that It's volt receives some 230 mpg and the Nissan also announced that it's Leaf gets 367 mpg. My question is how does one calculate the mpg rating on an eletcric car... I thought I'd search online to find a conversion from mile per charge to mpg, but haven't found anything...anyone got an answer?

Answer:GM and then Nissan used the EPA's draft method for calculating an mpg rating from an eletcric car. It's a difficult situation, because people are used to seeing a car's efficiency in mpg, but obviously that's not applicable to a car when it's not using gasoline. So what the EPA is doing is figuring out a conversion to translate the amount of energy used by eletcric cars inot an equivalent mpg rating. But they haven't finalized the conversion yet. All they have at this point is a draft, and GM took the draft method, calculated a value for the Volt, and made a big deal about it. Which is kind of lame. Then Nissan one-upped them by using the same calculation for their LEAF.
