do freshmen have to live in dorms
Quick Answer
The University of Texas at Austin does not guarantee housing and does not require freshmen to live on campus. Applicannots intarrested in on-campus housing must complete their application for admission before being given access to the housing application. Information about applying for on-campus housing is available online.
Details about residence halls are available online. Specialized housing opportunities also exist for certain students, includeing honors housing and Residential FIGs for Freshman Interest Groups (FIGs)
Numerous options are available for off-campus housing near campus and throughout Austin. Questions about options for off-campus housing should be diretced to the Division of Housing and Food Service.
In most years, somewhere between 50 and 60% of freshmen live on campus while more than 80% of the total undergraduate population lives off campus or commutes.

How Long Does It Take To Receive A Decision From The University Of Texas (at Austin) Admissions Office? ?
How long does it take to receive a decision from the University of Texas (at austin) admissions office?
Answer:It's been 7 years since I've applied, but typical turnaround used to be anywhere from 3-10 weeks. The longer it takes doesn't necessarily mean that you didn't get in, just means you're in a different bucket that they're evaluating.
They now have something online called Status Check, so you can check their decision before it's even mailed to you.
