Does The Verizon Dsl Software Or Any Other Software Need To Be Installed On A Second Computer?

Ok, here's the situation. My cousin has a computer that was given to him. He already had a connection running from the router in the kitchen to his room, with his roommate's pc in the kitchen right beside the router. Not sure if this an actual network as they are not connected by a server. But anyway, they have Verizon DSL. He had the Verizon dsl software installed on his old computer, but the cd(s) ended up getting lost. Well, we got the new computer hooked up to the dsl connection in the apartment (typing on it right now) without using the Verizon DSL software cd(s), and he also has Avast anti-virus installed on his computer. But does he actually need to install any Verizon dsl software or any other software for the modem/router the connection is coming through? And if so, is there any way of getting the software short of calling Verizon or the router manufacturer for more cd's? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Answer:No, he does not have to install the software on the second computer. Just hook it straight to the router. Just be sure to hook up the phone line filters as specified in the instructions. How To Switch Phones With Verizon Without Paying An Outrageous Amount For It?

Verizon is expensive. I got a palm centro. It sucks. No one told me that i would have extra fees for having a PDA. So now instead of my phone bill being $90 its $190. I want to change phones but can only get another one for full retail price. Where can i buy a phone that will work with Verizon? A reliable website perhaps? Or a store other than Verizon?

Answer:I would go to a Verizon store and have them go over your bill with you completely... If you are still within the first 30 days they have their satisfaction guarantee. They should be able to help you figure out your bill and get it into a reasonable range. I know some of the electronics stores (Car Toys around me) is constantly offering "new contract" pricing well before you are eligible through the carriers. But again Verizon should be able to help you get you bill a little closer to the $100 - $130 range.
