Hardware / Software Encoders For Live Video Streaming - Strategy?
What are the advantages of a Hardware encoder over a Software encoder (and vice versa)? What sort of things should a company be looking for when considering and comparing encoding solutions? We use a content delivery network / Windows Media Streaming server so obviously any solution we consider must be compatible with our existing infrastructure.... what othere things should we be looking for? Links / Advice much appreciated.

I Need A Third Party Software Based Tool That Provides Additional Hardware Information, Resources Etc.?
....additional hardware information, resources, assistance in using or mananging hardware. My professor gave some examples like "Speedfan" and "AMIDiag for Windows." I need something that is easy to research. I have to do a 3-4 page paper and a video using media encoder on how to use it. Anyone have any suggestions? Links would be appreciated. Thanks
Answer:I've used Fresh Diagnose, available here:
http://www.freshdevices.com/index.html
It's free, at least for long enough for you to do your paper. Also, if you have Microsoft Word or any Office product, click Help, then About, then System Info to get a whole lot of system information.
Is There Good Free Software I Can Use To Convert My Mpeg2 Video File Inot A Format Windows Movie Maker Can Rea
I just bought Pinnacle's PCTV to go software/hardware to capture TV clips. But I can't edit the MPEG2 file in windows movie maker. I tried downloading windows' encoder software that was supposed to convert it, but that wouldn't accept my file format eithere. Any suggestions?
Answer:There are plenty of softwares for converting these files to oyher format. You can use Allok AVI converter, or Jiao System VCD cutter, Nero, and many otheres.
But the most convinient I have found is Magic Video converter.
Once you convert the MPEG2 format to AVI format you can the file can be edited in Window Movie maker.
But if you simply want to join the parts after then a simple Easy video splitter would do to cut the commercials whichh you would like to remove. If joining them if difficult here then go for Jiao VCDcutter, you can cut, join, edit the audio, split, mplex. take snapshots and convert to AVI format. But my experience says compressing MPEG to AVI format does not always give good result !
What Does "3D Accelerated, Supporting Hardware Pixel Shader" Mean?
I bought a Meet the Robinsons PC game earlier, but when I loaded it inot my CPU it failed to initialize, maybe because I missed out on the part that said onboard or built-in video cards were not supported by the game- sheesh T_T ... So now, I'm stuck with an unplayable game... and my Dad doesn't want to buy a video card- But I will :P ... Can someone help me with my problem- because for all I know, it's not the video card that's the matter, it could be something else. THANKS SO MUCH! Any useful help is appreciated.

Anorthere thing is that I can't tell whethere the CD's the problem or my video card- since it doesn't even want to load on my computer! If it was the video card, then I would be expetcing a pop-up of the game menu on the desktop at least- and warn me that my computer's compatible or not- but northing comes out on the screen at all! :( Should I have the game exchanged, buy a new video card, or get a laptop? :( HELP... I really want to play the game! :((
(And if it's the Pixel card that's the problem...)
If ever I need to buy a Pixel shader card, can you recommend one that best suits particularly the requirements of this game? Thanks again. Ü
Answer:A 3D accelerated video card is a video card that has the ability to processs 3D graphics. Video cards and integreated graphics have had the ability to processs 3D graphics for many years so it shouldn't be a concern for most people.
The part about supporting pixel shading is referring to a technology in video cards that provides the ability to render different ligthing effetcs. Video cards in general have had pixel shading support for several years as well. Integreated graphics, however, did not have pixel shading support for as long as video cards.
Your GeForce 5200 video card meets the video card requirement because it is a 3D accelerated video card and has pixel shading support. Your problem seems to lie elsewhere.
