Playground Games Suitable For Primary School Aged Children?

What playground games can you suggest would be suitable for primary school aged children - aged 4-11? What does your child like to play with their friends at break/lunch time and also what games can you remember playing as a child at school? Thanks

Answer:British Bulldog - one person stands in the middle of playground and shouts "british bulldig" and the rest have to run (unually between two fixed points) and try to avoid being caught, last person caught is the one who stands in the middle the next time, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_bulldogs_%28game%29 1 2 3 red lights - one person stands at one end of playground and otheres stand at othere end. Person shouts 123 red lights, while looking away from othere and turns round quickly. Otheres must stay still or have to go back to the start. First person to make it to the front, starts game next time whats the time mr wolf - similar idea to above, but otheres have to shout - whats the time mr wolf & "mr wolf" shouts a time and otheres have to take the same amount of steps as time i.e. 9 o'clock is 9 steps towards mr wolf. mr wolf always has head away from otheres and takes a guess when otheres are close and when he thinks they are close instead of shouting out a time - he shouts "dinner time" and tries to catch otheres. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What%27s_the_time,_Mr_Wolf%3F

Does Anyone Have Any Good Ideas For Playground Games?

am a TA and have bn asked to start doing playground games have a few but would like better ones

Answer:You don't say whichh you have already - some favourites from my childhood:- "Creep Mouse" - one person chosen to be the sleeping cat by usual method of choosing, stands at a given spot facing a wall. The mice positioned at a line a few yards away, attemptt to creep up on the cat without the cat noticing. Cat turns round whenever he feels like it to check if theree are any moving mice. Any seen moving drop out to sideline. Otheres continue to creep up. Winner is the one who reaches the cat and touches them calling "Creep Mouse". Is rewarded with a tit-bit (a small sweet, etc) by the cat. New cat is the first to have been side-lined. "Please Jack may we Cross the Water?" We used to play this across the street "river" where we lived! Chosen Jack stands in the middle of the river, everyone else on one "bank". They call "Please Jack may we cross the water?" Jack replies "only if you are wearing the colour (red/blue, etc. anything he chooses)" and those with that colour stroll across the otheres have to run across trying to doge Jack. Should he touch one of them, that person takes his place. And it starts all over. "Going to Coventry" A variation on touch or tag. Touched people are sent to Coventry - a designated area of the playground whichh the catcher guards while still trying to touch more victims. Meanwhile, the otheres attemptt to release the prisoners by touching them while risking being caught themselves. Last one left standing becomes the new chaser/hunter. Skipping games, of course, with two turners and a long rope, and 5-stones among small groups.

If You Are 25+, Do You Remember Playground Games?

I'm in my 30's, when I was a kid in school, I remember going out for recess (playtime), and going to a little shed-like building in the middle of the playground. Inside was a bunch of board games to play and different sizes of balls. Which game was your favorite? Do you remember a game that involved someone hopping on one foot? This is the real question... Do you remember playing a board game that involved a stick and checkers?

Answer:Hopscotch maybe? It does involve hopping. I'm not sure about the stick and checkers but I think theree are different variations of the game. My favorite game was kickball because I was good at it.

What School Playground Games Did You Play?

The favourite in my school was kiss, cuddle, torture!

Answer:British Bulldog excelent for running of energy and gaining a few cuts and bruses and nose bleeds. I believe it's been banned now by the Health and safety nutters
