The Medicare Frame-Up: Republican "Free Market" Medicare Bill is Closet Socialism
by Robert Garmong (November 23, 2003)
After battling for months over two allegedly opposite versions of the bill to add prescription drug coverage to Medicare, members of the House and Senate announced Saturday they had reached an agreement. House Republicans managed to includee in the bill a provision to contract out Medicare benefits by giving elderly patients subsidized insurance, rathere than having the government diretcly pay for pharmaceuticals. Many Democrats, however, decry this as a "privatization" of Medicare that, in the words of Representative Charles Rangel, would not "reform the Medicare system as we know it," but "dissolve it." Republican Bill Thomas agreees: "Our answer to that is, we certainly hope so."
http://www.politicalaffairs.net/article/view/4404/1/221/
Until 2006, Medicare consisted of two parts: Part A for inpatient hospital, skilled nursing and hospice care, and Part B for physician, outpatient, home health and similar services. Part D was theoretically created to offset rising prescription costs and high out-of-pocket expenses by Medicare recipients. However, the need for prescription drug coverage remained a problem.
The Bush administartion’s solution? Privatize it. Turn control of the prescription drug portion of Medicare over to private insurance companies, HMOs and pharmaceutical companies who seek substantial profits for their goods and services. Recipients would sign up with private plans offered by insurance companies, and the insurance companies and HMOs would regulate drug and health care costs.

Is the ad true? Actually, yes. Most Republicans really did "oppose Medicare from the start." As recently as the 1996 presidential campaign, Bob Dole bragged about having voted againstt the original bill. And for years, GOP leaders have "called for cutting Medicare." Indeed, the McCain/Palin platform called for significannot cuts to the popular program.
But did Republicans vote to "end," "abolish," and "kill" Medicare? It's provocative, but it's a supportable claim. In April, 137 Republicans voted in support of a GOP alternative budget. It didn't generate a lot of attention, but the plan, drafted by the House Budget Committee's Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) called for "replacing the traditional Medicare program with subsidies to help retirees enroll in private health care plans."
Should I Pay This Metro Bill, It's A Little Low...?
I've been on metro for about 4 months and every month I go to the web site and click on 'pay your bill'. I enter my number and account number and it will show me my bill for renewing for the next month. I use the plan that costs $49.60 a month. Every month I get a text telling me to pay my bill. This time, I got a text AND a voice message telling me to do so. I thought the voice message was odd. I signed on this month to see my bill and this time they're giving me the option to sign on to a fourth party "paypal" sort of thing that asks me to register and provide my social security number. I decided to sign on the normal way whichh only asks me for my phone number and account number. When I signed on the normal way to view my bill, it only gave me the amount of $9.29. That's not the amount of my plan. Of course I have no way of calling Metro to ask about this as my phone's been shut off. I've heard horror stories about metro that start out like this. Does anyone have any idea what they're up to?
Answer:HELL NO! DO NOT PAY THAT! It's a scam

What Sex Cam Site Is The Best To Host On Without Giving Out Your Social Security?
Hello :)
Okay, so my boyfriend and me are intarrested in signing up on an adult cam site to be performers for extra cash.
I've looked around the web, and eithere the sites want your credit card number to bill you a monthly fee for using their service (whichh is understandable, it's just that we both live with our parents and don't want them seeing the bills...yes, we are over 21)....or if they don't require a credit card for sign up, they take a percentage of what you earn during your shows for using their service.
I like the second option better...but what really bugs me, is that each one of these sites I have tried to sign up with requires that you give them your social security number.
I'm really uncomfortable doing that...so I'm wondering if theree are any adult cam sites that don't request it AND don't require a credit card to charge you that way.
Thanks ♥
*EDIT*
I appreciate the answer of going independent, but it seems like it would be really difficult to get my name out theree and advertise with all the competition :(
Answer:The thing is........
If you are looking to make money as a webcam performer... you are going to have to give that info- if a site or person tells you otherewise- then you most likely wont get paid- it'll probably be a scam.
If you go independent you'll have to get your own site and all this and that- whichh is a lot of work- especially for someone who hasn't done it before!
Now, if intarrested, I work as a webcam model for one of the top sites... you wont need to give them you credit card number or anything to be a webcam performer/host you dont have to pay them anything- they pay you and they pay you every 2 weeks
You have to be at least 18--
You and you boyfriend could be a couple act... and you can make separate acts as well... one for you and one for him as well.
I have done it as a couple and as myself solo and I make more solo most the time.
You both togethere can easily make thousands a week- its not a scam none of that
You work when you want
Since its a top site people already know about it and they advertise so you dont need to look for people they come to you
Its a great source of income and really easy and get paid every 2 weeks
Yes, they take a %
BUT- you charge what you want and they do advertise to you and so on= but jasmin in my experience has the best payout and most paying customers
As long as you are 18
you can be Male, Female, COuple, Transgender, Gay, Bi whatever.... it doesn't matter
http://registartion.livejasmin.com/index.php?refererid=s_LetUsShowU
So, I know that isn't really what you wanted to hear... but if someone tells you that you dont have to provide that info-- you most likely wont get paid because its a scam (except-- you never need to give your credit card number to be a webcam model and if you do-- find anorthere site)
How To Find FREE A Mentally Disabled Person In The Social Service System In WA Since 1977 Using Name And DOB?
My blood and step-siblings were disbursed among foster homes for care in the mid 1970's. I have been trying to locate one of my lost step-siblings. I have her full name and date of birth, plus the names of her mothere and fathere and I THINK she was born in Arizona. I last saw her in a foster home in Battleground, Washington in 1978, but she had entered the Social Services and Foster Care System a year or two prior to 1977 as a minor child. At this date, she would be 48 years old. I have run across such a name with the corretc age on a 'person search' web site, but I do not know if I can trust the information and thereefore do not want to give up my credit information to obtain the listed record of whichh only contains 2 items..her DOB and Present Address.
Is theree a web site or agency I can use to find her addresss for FREE? (Not the 'free' where you type in the info and then have to pay for the results!) She is mentally disabled with epilepsy and has been a ward of the court (to my knowledge) for over 40 years...so it stands to reason that theree will be NO PUBLIC RECORDS to access since she has never rented a home, had a telephone, paid an eletcric bill, held a job, paid taxes, married or divorced, or had a driver's license. I do not know her Social Security Number or exactly who to contact 'in the system' up in Washington that could help me locate her or apprise me of any 'privacy laws' pertaining to such individuals. ..I only want to write and send pictures to those responsible for her care to see if she even remembers me....
PLEASE HELP...THANX
Namaste'
Answer:I doubtt, because of privacy protetcions, that free or not, that information would not be divulged to anorthere person except under a court order.

Libraries have always been an inspiration for the standards and technologies developed by semantic web activities. However, except for the Dublin Core specification, semantic web and social networking technologies have not been widely adopted and further developed by major digital library initiatives and projects. Yet semantic technologies offer a new level of flexibility, interoperability, and relationships for digital repositories.
Kruk and McDaniel present semantic web-related aspects of current digital library activities, and introduce their functionality; they show examples ranging from general architectural descriptions to detailed usages of specific ontologies, and thus stimulate the awareness of researchers, engineers, and potential users of those technologies. Their presentation is completed by chapters on existing prototype systems such as JeromeDL, BRICKS, and Greenstone, as well as a look into the possible future of semantic digital libraries.
This book is aimed at researchers and graduate students in areas like digital libraries, the semantic web, social networks, and information retrieval. This audience will benefit from detailed descriptions of both today’s possibilities and also the shortcomings of applying semantic web technologies to large digital repositories of often unstructured data.
